Platform for Water Funds evaluation
This project focuses on designing a platform that allows an NGO focused on water preservation to give a follow up on the agreements made with different water funds administrators.
Project Background
This NGO identified the need to build a tool that would allow them to carry out the process of qualifying the situation of the different existing water funds for allocation of funds and reportability.

Currently they use an Excel tool that only allows them to rate the status of each fund, but monitoring and downloading the reports has been a challenge.
Methodologies implemented
Interviews
At the discovery phase of the project, I worked on interviews focused to understand the main pains of the users of this tool with the excel that they already had. Also looking to understand which kind of new functionalities they were needing.
1
Why did I choose this research method?
I used this research method because it helped me to understand easily what the users were struggling with previously with their excel tool, so I can have more information to design the new tool.
2
How were the interviews applied?
We used interviews in 2 phases of the development process, trying to have deeper understanding on new outputs we were getting:
1. Understanding why they need to change their tool:
-
Our questions were focused on understanding why the excel was not fulfilling their needs .
-
Later on understanding what expectations they had on their new tool
-
An complementing this with what kind of tools where useful to implement in this new site.

2. Understand the organization goal
-
We tried to understand which was the objetive of this tool with the NGO representatives
-
What were the value proposition elements that they felt weren't covered in their previous tools
-
Which were the things that they needed to be implemented in this new site.

Wireframes
At the beginning of my design process I created wireframes for testing purposes so we can have clear what kind of information and how we were going to dispose it in the selling platform. This was very useful because from this initial wireframe we were able to test it with customers and get valuable insights to improve the design.
User Testing
Before launching the product, I did a 2 testing round in order to reveal possible usability problems.
-
Our first round was focused on understand how our users were looking for information in the site and validate the texts and CTAs we were using
-
Our second round, was focused on testing the final prototype previous to going to the development process and validate all the changes we did to the structure and to the brand.
This test were remote moderated testings, where we were able to identify how the user was interacting with the prototype and asking them to describe what they were thinking during the process.
